Torrey Pines – 2nd Hole

by Mike Sigers

2nd - Torrey Pines

Here’s another great shot from Golf Courses Of The US Open.

This one’s the 2nd hole at Torrey Pines, a golf course I’m sure el Tigre played a lot on growing up. Maybe ol’ Lefty did too.

Click thru to the website and check out the book and click thru to Torrey Pine’s website and see if you can get us on and I’ll fly out for a round … or two !

As always, you can get a better view by clicking on the photo.

My wife and I spent part of our honeymoon at The Lodge @ Torrey Pines, and had a chance to play the South Course. That was, indeed, an absolutely gorgeous hole. I ended up jacking my juiced iron over the green…down into some brush covered cliff headed down to the pacific :)

Pretty sure it’s the 3rd hole though :)

Here’s a picture I snapped standing on the tee:

What a great shot, Sean !

Thanks for sharing. I’m not completely sure about the 2nd or 3rd, but they’re both gorgeous !

I hope to play there some day.

I’ve played there, too, my friend. (San Diego was a former address.) Gorgeous photo from Sean.

Dang TAG, am I the only golf blogger who hasn’t played there ? ;-)

Even hitting a ball over that green, into the brush..lost ball…it’s really hard to get mad at anything playing that course. All you have to do is look up, and check out the gorgeous scenery and you quickly remember what’s important!

Hey Sean,

I get like that at several courses in the hills of east Tennessee, western North Carolina and all over Kentucky.

Hard to be mad when you’re looking down at the rest of the world and thinking about going to Cracker Barrel !

It’s actually the 3rd hole at Torrey Pines (South)
