Titleist Launches A Tour Blog

Titleist Tour Blog

Thru my good golf blog buddy Mediaguru ( Tony Korologos ) I just read about Titleist launching a Tour blog. They chose WordPress, good choice, and kept it simple and clean, which means it’s easy to read.

I’m not a big fan of the “Read more …” tags, but I guess I can click thru if I want to read the rest of the story.

Over at The Wedge Guy, which my staff built for Terry Koehler, we didn’t use that feature, as I believe that it just gets fewer people to read an article.

Think about it. If you have to click a link to read the article, you have to be REALLY interested by the headline and I’m betting their headline writing skills are not as good as my friend Copyblogger’s are.

If the rest of the article/post is already there, the reader is more like to continue reading and more likely to come back for more at a later date.

I also agree with Tony about their need for a Blog Roll, which is definitely needed, as I just added them to mine.

BTW, Tony, you need to get rid of that need to be logged in to comment thang. I don’t do that to you over here at Travelling Golfer !

Good luck to Titleist and welcome to the wonderful world of golf blogs !

I’ve had a couple of complaints about the being logged in thing. BUT, it’s been a way of preventing spam that worked quite well for a long time. Now the spam bots are smarter though and I’m experimenting with new spam systems to make it better…

Thanks for considering it Tony.

You write a lot of posts that I’d love to comment on, but I don’t have time to log in to the 100+ blogs I read almost daily.

We fight spam on 20+ blogs every day, so we know the pain you feel !

Hi, I am from Dundee (11 miles from Carnoustie). I can offer Bed and Breakfast during the open. Double ensuite and twin bunk. Nice rooms; old quiet area of Dundee. Full breakfast; parking; reasonable rates. thanks: sleat1@talk21.com

Hi Paul,

Since that has nothing to do with the topic of this post, I should delete the comment, but I’m feeling generous tonite, so I’ll leave it … for now.
