You're not alone Riley.

The networks may love him and the fan who knows nothing about golf might love him, but a lot of golfers aren't impressed with his unwillingness to play by the same rules as his peers.

Hey MediaGuru - I tend to lean towards that explanation too.

Thanks for the affirmation.

Hey Nick - you're right about the apples to oranges thing, but ...

Tiger only played 15 events last year.

NASCAR drivers get paid on the same scale for golfers. First pays more than last, but they have to race in every race. They don't pick 15 out of 36 races.

Golfers like Tiger, who leads a blessed exisitence because of the PGA, owes it to them to play and support them and the sponsors.

If someone could step up and kick his ass on a regular basis, he wouldn't be doing this part-time thing.

Sadly, none of the current playes can do that ... yet.

"Maybe it’s because Stuart Appleby is 3-time defending champ at Kapalua and he knows he can’t beat Stuart in Hawaii and his streak will be over."

...that's the reason.

Do I enjoy watching Tiger and wish he would play in more tournaments? Sure, but...

You can't compare athletes in a team sport like football to an individual sport like golf. Football players are in a contract to play for their team and I'm sure somewhere in the contract it states they must play each week unless injured, family emergencies, etc. Golf is an individual sport, so they aren't playing for a team or owner.

Football players get paid no matter if they win or lose each week. Golfers must perform well to get paid with the ultimate payoff being a win.
