Another Golf Cart Whips A Professional Driver

This time it’s Jimmie Johnson, NASCAR’s 2006 season champion who got his whuppin’ from a golf cart.
Johnson suffered a broken left wrist Friday in a golf cart accident while participating in a charity golf tournament in Florida.
As a result, Johnson has withdrawn from the Race of Champions Nations Cup at the Stade de France in Paris on December 16th.
Johnson wasn’t the cart’s driver and still plans to attend the Race of Champions event to help Team USA in any way he can. Like telling them to stay away from golf carts.
“I was in a golf cart and the driver took a sharp turn,” Johnson said in a team press release. “I wasn’t holding on tight enough, landed awkwardly on the ground and heard a little pop. It was a fluke deal, but fortunately we’re in the offseason and I don’t plan to miss any additional time [following the Race of Champions].”
Johnson is in a cast and said Sunday that doctors estimate his recovery at four to six weeks, and that the injury will not affect his preparation for the 2007 NASCAR season.
Let this be a lesson to all you professional drivers out there. Golf is a man’s sport and you have to be a real athlete and a man’s man to play with the big boys.
Little racers need to beware of those Club Car’s, Yamaha’s and little deuce coupes !
Thanks to the folks at SpeedTV for this great shot of Jimmie.
