I just read an ad spread in Golf Magazine. It was about a Reader’s Choice contest, apparently sponsored by Jeep.
10 of the Most Adventurous Golf Courses In America, in their opinion, are as follows :

3) Ko’olau - Oahu, HI
4) Westin La Cantera - San Antonio, TX
5) Tobacco Road - Sanford, NC
6) Crosswater - Sun River, OR
7) Furnace Creek - Death Valley, CA

10) Ocean Course - Kiawah Island, SC

Surprisingly, I have actually played two of the courses on this list. Ko’olau is one of the toughest courses I’ve played. Plus, it’s absolutely breathtaking. Primm Valley has two courses, and while neither was especially difficult (to me, they’re all difficult) compared to other courses, they are quite nice. I liked the Lakes course better, but the Desert course is probably more of the “adventure.”
